Archival Services For 35mm Microfilm

Archival services for 35mm microfilm is becoming harder to find because many companies that offered archival services years ago, are not offering may of the services they used to. Part of the reason for this change is that archival services, like some other microfilming services, is not needed as much as before. Companies that perform this operation need to maintain licenses and equipment up to date, and unless they have enough work, it does not pay for them to continue offering archival services.

Our operation offers archival services, microfilming services and microfilm scanning services. We are equipped with the latest digitizing equipment so that is you need archival services and microfilm scanning services, we can help you with both.

Some county records that require archival services use internal operations and are finding this systems hard to maintain. Genealogical societies usually have old records on microfilm and do not need archival services unless they need to re-microfilm the records. In many cases, archival services is used for data records.

Slide Scanning Prices

Generation Imaging provides Florida slide scanning services, and even if you are located outside of Florida we can digitize your 35mm color slides. Slide scanning prices vary based on volume and indexing options. The greater the volume the lower the price.

A ballpark slide scanning price for hundreds of thousands of slides would be around 15 cents, give or take a few cents. Smaller volumes can 3-4 times that price. Optional indexing parameters may add to that price.

Why convert slides to digital images?

1) Allows you to retrieve instantly specific photos on your computer screen instead of hunting and searching for them.
2) Enables you to share images with friends, family, the public, or clients via internet, e-mail, FTP, CDs, or DVDs.
3) Print. Questions: how to print a slide? Answer: get it digitized.
4) Emergency backup. Natural disasters, floods, fires, and burglaries could wipe out your slide collection. Don't wait for a disaster- be proactive and archive your slides before you lose the opportunity.

What are slide scanning formats? Color JPEGs is the most common format. Other common formats include TIFF, PDF, and PNG.

Slides can be named by handwriting or typed information located on their white borders. The actual files may contain this information or be inside a spreadsheet, database, or text file.

Please feel free to contact Generation Imaging via phone or e-mail for a slide scanning price quote. If you have an estimate for your volume we can instantly give you a quote and turnaround time via e-mail.
